Dubai’s dining scene just welcomed a new addition that’s a little more grounded and a lot more personal. Oppidan, the latest project from Rashed Al Tayer and the team behind Terra Eatery, has opened its doors in Jumeirah 3. Set inside a converted villa, this Italian-inspired restaurant offers a calm, home-style setting — far from the city’s usual dining spectacle.

The space leans into natural textures and warm design. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the interior with daylight, while the garden terrace adds to the laid-back vibe — more like a weekend lunch at a friend’s than a formal dinner out.

Central to the experience at Oppidan is its open kitchen. It’s where you’ll see pasta being hand-rolled, pizzas lifted from the wood-fired oven, and generous mains plated with purpose. The menu is simple, comforting, and deeply flavour-driven, including:

  • Beetroot Salad
  • Crispy Mushroom Arancini
  • Fettuccine Ragu
  • Chicken Milanese

For dessert, the Burnt Pistachio Cheesecake is a must, ideally paired with a strong espresso.

Oppidan’s charm lies in its simplicity. It’s unfussy, welcoming, and focused on great food made with care. Whether you’re in for a long lunch, a quiet dinner, or just a slice of cheesecake in the garden, it’s the kind of spot that invites you to stay a while.
