Louvre Abu Dhabi has introduced a new addition to its programming: the Quantum Dome, a virtual reality experience that lets visitors explore major moments in global history — without ever leaving the museum. Now open at the Lower Forum, the installation runs until June 30, 2026.
The Quantum Dome is a 360-degree VR journey designed to blend storytelling, history, and interactive visuals into a 30-minute experience.

Visitors are guided through a series of time-travel scenes including:
- The streets of Imperial Rome
- The libraries of Medieval Baghdad
- The courts of Mughal India
Using advanced VR technology, the exhibit aims to recreate these moments with realistic visuals and smooth transitions that make the experience feel immediate and immersive and much more engaging than a standard visit to museum.

This installation is suitable for a broad audience. It’s designed to be:
- Educational for students and families
- Engaging for casual museumgoers
- Accessible to visitors of different age groups (the experience is not suitable for children under 8)
Whether you’re visiting with family, planning a quiet afternoon solo, or looking for something new to do on the weekend, Quantum Dome offers a different take on museum visits. It’s available as part of Louvre Abu Dhabi’s regular visitor programming. Check the museum’s website or on-site schedule for session timings.
