Air Canada has cancelled hundreds of international flights due to a strike by its cabin crew, affecting roughly 500,000 passengers worldwide, including those flying to and from Dubai International Airport (DXB). Flights between Toronto and Dubai on both Air Canada and Air Canada Rouge remain suspended until further notice.
If you have booked a flight with Air Canada, here’s some information you need to know:
- Check your flight status
The strike is ongoing, and cancellations may also impact connecting flights from Dubai on Air Canada, so double-check your itinerary before travelling.

You can do it:
1. via DXB official website here
2. via Air Canada official website here
Air Canada recommends checking your booking before heading to DXB. Flights normally departing from Terminal 3 from Dubai have been cancelled since Saturday, August 16.
- Get alternative travel arrangements with Air Canada
Passengers with tickets purchased on or before August 17 for travel between August 15-20 can rearrange flights for free. You can rebook for travel from August 23 to September 30

- Get a refund
Air Canada offers full refunds for unused flights booked on or before August 15, for travel between August 18-21
Some good news for those looking for alternative options to reach Canada. Emirates flights to Toronto and Montréal from DXB continue as scheduled from Terminal 3. When travelling with Emirates, keep in mind that the airline recently banned the use of power banks during all flights – the new rule will come into effect starting October 1.
