Women in Dubai are about to make sporting history. This December, the city will host Women’s Triathlon World Cup – Dubai 2025, the first-ever event in the world created entirely for female athletes. It is organised by the Dubai Sports Council in partnership with the UAE Triathlon Federation and will take place on Dubai Islands on December 7.
The championship aims to inspire women to take part in sports and celebrate their growing presence in international competitions. Participants will compete in swimming, cycling, and running (the signature triathlon disciplines).
There will be several categories to choose from:
- Professional (elite): 750 m swim, 20 km cycle, 5 km run
- Sprint (amateurs): 750 m swim, 20 km cycle, 5 km run
- Super Sprint (beginners & age groups): 400 m swim, 10 km cycle, 2.5 km run
Women’s Triathlon World Cup will also feature a team category for the Sprint and Super Sprint races, where three women can join forces: one participant swims, another cycles, and the third runs. It’s a fun way to experience the triathlon spirit without having to go it alone.
And if you’re into women-only team events, make sure to check out Pink Ladies Games in Dubai this December. It’s going to be another celebration of strength, teamwork, and fun.
Women’s Triathlon World Cup supports Dubai’s vision of empowering women and building an active, balanced community. It also adds to the city’s reputation as one of the world’s leading destinations for global sporting events. If you’d like to take part, registration is now open at wtwcdubai.ae.
You can also explore the free events of Dubai Fitness Challenge 2025 for more fitness activities happening in the city in November. It’s a great way to prepare for a demanding triathlon challenge.
