A person bought two movie tickets using an AI-powered chatbot. There was no need to search websites or browse through sales platforms. The chatbot handled everything from recommending the movie to completing the purchase, all using pre-stored payment information.
This is a glimpse into what the future of shopping and paying might look like. Imagine booking tickets, planning a trip, or making any purchase just by chatting with an AI. Mastercard and Visa are already planning to roll out AI-powered payment agents in the near future, so this kind of experience could become the norm before we know it.
In fact, Dubai has big plans to go fully cashless by 2026. One of the first steps toward that is the launch of Digital Dirham, Dubai’s own digital currency. This makes the idea of fast and easy transactions closer to becoming a part of everyday life.
