A new cycling trail for kids is now open in Dubai, and it’s a great option for parents looking for outdoor activities that feel safe and easy to fit into family routines. Located inside Mushrif National Park, Young Rangers Cycling Trail is the first child-focused cycling trail of its kind in the Middle East. It’s reserved for young cyclists under the age of 12.

It stretches for 1.5 km through Mushrif’s forest landscape, surrounded by Ghaf trees that create a calm and shaded environment, which helps parents feel more comfortable letting their kids ride freely without pressure from older cyclists.

Along the way, children encounter a series of features designed to support balance, control, and coordination:

  • Balance beams that help children practise steady riding and control
  • Arch hoops that encourage focused steering
  • Wooden rollers that support smooth movement
  • Gentle side-sloped turns that teach safe cornering
  • Log rolls that introduce light changes in terrain
  • Soft limbo-style elements
  • Small rock garden zones that help develop coordination and basic trail-handling skills

While a child navigates the route, parents can watch from nearby.

Young Rangers Cycling Trail is open daily from sunrise to sunset and is free for all young visitors. You can use it without booking.

If your child enjoys cycling and being active, Rashid and Latifa Duathlon in January feels like the right sports event to join. It’s open to children aged 2 to 13 and includes bike and run as activities.

Adults don’t have to miss out either, as January also brings a full calendar of sports events to the city for anyone looking to keep fit and active. Take a look at the running events in Dubai in January and pick your first challenge of 2026!
