There’s a new route coming out of Abu Dhabi this autumn that might come in handy if you’re traveling to Europe. Etihad Airways has confirmed it will launch direct flights to Luxembourg from October 2026. The airline becomes the first Middle Eastern carrier to offer nonstop service between the UAE and this European destination.

The route will operate three times a week between Zayed International Airport (AUH) and Luxembourg Airport (LUX).

Luxembourg offers a different pace compared to bigger European cities. It’s compact, easy to move around, and known for its old town, castles, and green valleys. It also works well as a starting point of your European trip, with short distances to France, Germany, and Belgium.

Also in October this year, the airline will launch new routes to Indonesia and Cambodia. Even earlier, starting from March 2026, more destinations across Central Asia and the Caucasus are expected to join the network.

If your future travel plans lean toward less obvious destinations and routes that aren’t overcrowded yet, you’ll probably find yourself checking Etihad’s flights more than once. Stay tuned for more updates on new routes and international travel options from Abu Dhabi.
