If you’re walking along Kite Beach this week, you might notice a large digital heart, and you can become part of it. ‘We Love Dubai’ turns selfies into a living display that celebrates the people who call the city home.
As you get closer, you’ll notice the mosaic forming a heart that animates on the screen. Every square holds a face of people living and working in Dubai. They fade out and reappear in a steady rhythm, creating a heartbeat effect.
This installation is set up on Kite Beach, a short walk from SALT. It will stay there until the end of this week (April 12). Good news is: this community-wide initiative open to anyone.
Joining happens on-site and takes a minute:
- Scan the QR code at the installation
- Enter your name, nationality, and email address
- Take your photo through the app. Tap submit and wait for the message
- Your photo is then added to the mosaic as part of the display
Don’t forget to stop by a nearby stand to pick up a “Dubai is home” or “We love Dubai” sticker.

Below are the timings when the digital mosaic is active and you can take part:
- Weekdays: 3 PM to 10 PM
- Weekends: 10 AM to 10 PM
The same spirit of unity and support shows up across Dubai in other ways. A new pay-it-forward platform now lets residents buy a coffee or a simple meal for a stranger. Around the city, more people are also hanging banners with the words from the national anthem.
Together, these initiatives point to something important: the strength of Dubai lives in the people who call it home.
