If you’re looking for something different to do this autumn, add Public Art Abu Dhabi Biennial to your list. The free event returns with art installations and performances in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.

Instead of taking place inside galleries, Public Art Abu Dhabi Biennial brings art into everyday public spaces, so people can come across canvas works, live installations, and performances when exploring the city.

The photo below shows “Where Lies My Carpet Is Thy Home” by Christopher Benton, one of the artworks from the previous edition of Public Art Abu Dhabi Biennial.

The 2026 edition follows the theme Home: A Glossary for a Communal Sense of Place. The programme explores the idea of home as something shared and constantly shaped by the people who live there.

More details and locations of artworks will appear on @publicartabudhabi.

Opening dates of Public Art Abu Dhabi Biennial 2026-27:

  • Al Ain: October 23
  • Abu Dhabi: November 15
