The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has officially completed all five phases of the Al Shindagha Corridor Development Project on the Bur Dubai side, marking a major improvement in the city’s infrastructure and marking a dramatic drop in travel time. What once took 80 minutes now takes just 12, according to the RTA.
The final step in the project involved the inauguration of the fifth bridge as part of the Sheikh Rashid Road and Al Mina Street intersection development. With this, drivers can now enjoy smooth traffic flow from Al Garhoud Bridge all the way to Port Rashid, via Infinity Bridge, and continue on to the Waterfront Market — with no interruptions.

Getting across key parts of the city is now significantly faster. A drive from Jumeirah Street to Infinity Bridge takes about five minutes, and so does the journey from Infinity Bridge to Al Mina Street, continuing to Al Wasl Road at its 2nd December Street intersection.
The corridor, which spans both Deira and Bur Dubai, also supports major urban developments like Dubai Islands, Dubai Waterfront, Dubai Maritime City, and Port Rashid. According to Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the RTA Board, the upgraded network now serves a population of around one million people.

In addition to these improvements, work is progressing on the Al Khaleej Street Tunnel project. The tunnel will connect the end of the Infinity Bridge ramp in Deira to the intersection of Al Khaleej Street and Cairo Street, further enhancing east-west connectivity across Dubai.
This latest development is part of a larger vision to future-proof the city’s roads, reduce congestion, and support long-term urban growth.
