If you’re planning to ride the Dubai Metro or Tram on New Year’s Eve, here’s some great news. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has adjusted the timings to make your celebrations smoother.
Dubai Metro
On Sunday, December 31, the Dubai Metro will run from 8 a.m. until the stroke of midnight on Monday, January 1. Typically, it runs until midnight on weekdays, 1 a.m. on Fridays, and midnight on Saturdays. So, this extended timing is a special treat for the New Year’s crowd.
Dubai Tram
The Dubai Tram will be operational for an impressive 40 hours, starting at 9 a.m. on Sunday, December 31, until 1 am on Tuesday, January 2. Usually, it runs until 1 a.m. on weekdays and Sundays, and until 6 a.m. on weekdays.
Dubai Buses
To make your commute even better, the RTA is offering 230 buses for free! Yes, you read that right – free rides to make your New Year’s travel hassle-free.
Burj Khalifa Metro Station
Keep in mind that the Burj Khalifa Dubai Metro station will close at 5 p.m. on Sunday, so plan accordingly.
Worried about getting lost? The RTA has got your back with special signage and Intelligent Transportation Systems signage that provide real-time information about road closures and alternative routes.
