If your mornings revolve around traffic jams and clock-watching, this update will bring a huge relief. A new idea is about to hit the streets in Dubai that could make school runs a lot more practical. Roads and Transport Authority (RTA Dubai) is getting ready to launch a school bus pooling pilot phase within the next two weeks.
The system works much like a ride-hailing app. Students living in the same neighbourhood will be grouped together and picked up along shared routes, even if they attend different schools nearby. Instead of dozens of individual cars heading out at the same time, one bus handles the journey, cutting travel time and reducing pressure on the roads.

The initiative is being launched in partnership with Yango Group and Urban Express. For now, the pilot phase begins in Al Barsha, but if it delivers on its promise, the service could soon reach schools across Dubai.
It also says a lot about where things are heading in the country right now. This is one of several initiatives introduced during the Year of the Family in UAE, all focused on making life easier for parents and safer for kids. Another recent move looks at protecting children online: check out the main takeaways from the Child Digital Safety Law to see what’s changing there too.
