Dubai is about to get a taste of modern Spain with the arrival of Barrafina, a popular tapas restaurant that’s officially opening its doors on January 26. Located in DIFC Gate Village 1, this marks the first Barrafina location in the Middle East, with more expected to follow.
The restaurant concept is all about sharing, because, as the saying goes, sharing is caring. Barrafina’s roots trace back to the Spanish heritage of brothers Sam and Eddie Hart, who grew up in Mallorca. First ever spot opened in 2007 in London, and quickly became a standout.
The same spirit of no-fuss approach to great food is coming to Dubai. The DIFC restaurant will have 55 seats and stick closely to what Barrafina does best: an open kitchen where guests can sit at the counter and watch the chefs at work.
The menu blends Barrafina’s well-loved classics like tortilla ,gambas rojas, anchovy tostadas, prawn croquetas, and chicken thighs with romesco. Some dishes were created especially for Dubai:
- daily clams with salsa verde
- premium selection of Galician dry-aged beef
The menu also includes Spanish bikini sandwiches layered with tuna belly and caviar, a good match for terrace seating and a cold drink. Speaking of drinks, the list focuses on Spanish staples, including cavas, sherries, and a small selection of wines.
If you’ve been missing a proper Spanish-style dinner, you can now book a table at Barrafina in DIFC. With everything on the offer, it will be quickly noticed in Dubai’s dining scene.
