With the upcoming launch of Careem Beach, an innovative service by the popular app Careem, this dream is set to become reality in 2025. Careem Beach promises to redefine the beach experience by delivering food and refreshments directly to beachgoers without them needing to leave their spot in the sand.

Here’s how it works: Careem Beach will set up GPS-enabled umbrellas at designated beach entrances across the UAE. Each umbrella station features a unique QR code that, once scanned through the Careem app, allows users to order from a range of snacks, cold drinks, and other essentials — right to their shaded spot.
To use Careem Beach, simply find a Careem umbrella, scan the QR code, and place your order. When your beach day is over, return the umbrella to its station. This simple yet effective service is designed to solve the challenges of ordering food at sprawling beach locations, where spotty GPS signals and indistinct landmarks often make deliveries difficult.
“Beach days are cherished by both residents and tourists in the UAE,” said Tom Sword, Careem’s Senior Director of Brand and Creative. “But the vast and open beach areas can make precise delivery challenging. Careem Beach brings convenience straight to our customers, no matter where they’re relaxing.”
The inspiration for Careem Beach came from a need for better refreshment options at the beach. “People at the beach don’t always have convenient snack options,” explained Glaucco Martines, Creative Director at Careem. “Most either bring their own snacks — which can be inconvenient to carry and keep cool — or they have to interrupt their relaxation, walk to a food stand, and queue for service. Careem Beach provides a solution to this, making snack breaks easy, quick, and right at your fingertips.”
Careem Beach will initially launch at a few popular beach destinations, with plans to expand throughout 2025. This expansion means that soon, more UAE beach spots will have access to the seamless convenience of on-demand delivery, turning any day at the beach into a hassle-free experience.
