A major contemporary art event is coming to Riyadh! From February 24 to April 24, the Saudi Arabia Museum of Contemporary Art in JAX District will host Art of the Kingdom: Poetic Illuminations, an exhibition that brings together some of the most exciting Saudi artists working today.

This is the first traveling group exhibition dedicated to contemporary Saudi art. Featuring 17 talented artists, the display includes paintings, installations, and video works that explore the country’s cultural heritage, personal memories, and evolving identity.

Visitors can expect thought-provoking pieces that reflect on Saudi Arabia’s past and present through a modern artistic lens.

The exhibition first made waves in Brazil at Rio de Janeiro’s historic Paço Imperial, attracting 26,000 visitors. Now, it’s Riyadh’s turn to experience these compelling works before they move on to the National Museum in China, aligning with the 25th anniversary of Saudi-Chinese diplomatic ties.

Among the featured artists are Muhannad Shono, Lina Gazzaz, and Manal AlDowayan, as well as rising talents such as Ahaad Alamoudi and Fatma Abdulhadi.

Riyadh’s edition will also feature new, site-specific installations, ensuring a fresh and locally relevant experience. Don’t miss this chance to see Saudi contemporary art at its finest. Whether you’re an art lover or just curious about modern Saudi creativity, Poetic Illuminations is an unmissable cultural event.
