Dubai’s much-anticipated winter camping season has officially started, running from October 21, 2024, through April 2025. Set in the picturesque Al Awir desert, the temporary camping areas offer a family-friendly retreat, designed for those eager to immerse themselves in the breathtaking desert landscape during the cooler months.

This year’s camping permits allow for a minimum stay of three months, with the option to extend up to six months. Weekly fees are set at 44 fils per square meter, with campsites maxing out at 400 square meters.

What’s new and exciting this year is the dedicated areas for government partners and local businesses, allowing them to set up shop and cater to campers’ needs for supplies and services. The Dubai Municipality has also designated accessible locations for people of determination, ensuring the season is inclusive for all.

In addition to the adventure, safety remains a top priority. Campers must follow strict rules, including fire safety measures, the installation of temporary fencing, maintaining 20 km/h speed limits for bikes, and avoiding loudspeakers and floodlights to ensure a serene experience.

Fireworks are prohibited, and campsites must comply with public health standards, ensuring a clean and secure environment for all.

Interested campers can apply for permits through the Dubai Municipality website or the Dubai Now app.
