If your travel mood swings between beach heat and “give me something totally different,” this one’s for you. A brand-new European route is coming this autumn, and this is not your typical destination. Emirates has confirmed it will launch daily flights to Finland, opening a direct link between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Helsinki-Vantaa Airport (HEL) starting October 2026.

It’s a place of quiet forests, icy lakes, proper winters, and a pace of life that feels a world away from Dubai. Saunas instead of skyscrapers, snowy landscapes instead of desert heat, and long summer days or glowing northern skies, depending on when you go. If you’re into skiing, Lapland in the north is also packed with solid resorts.

The route will be operated by Airbus A350, which means passengers on this daily service from Dubai to Helsinki get the airline’s latest cabins from day one, including premium economy class. It’s a nice upgrade if you’re planning a longer trip north and want a bit more comfort without going all out.

Here’s the schedule of Emirates flights to Finland:

  • Flight EK167 leaves DXB at 8:45 AM and lands in Helsinki (HEL) at 2:55 PM local time
  • Return flight EK168 departs HEL at 4:45 PM and gets back to Dubai (DXB) at 12:20 AM the next day

If this destination caught your eye, it’s worth keeping an eye on Emirates in general. The airline was recently named one of the safest in the world, ranking fifth globally, and also picked up the title of Best Airline in the World at the 2025 ULTRAs travel awards. Not a bad combo if you’re thinking about who you to fly with next.

As for the airline’s new route, daily flights to Helsinki starting October 2026 might be the sign you didn’t know you needed to try something new. Stay tuned for more travel news!
