Something huge is coming to Yas Island, and no, not another theme park. Abu Dhabi is getting its own Sphere venue, the same futuristic entertainment concept that grabbed attention in Las Vegas with giant digital visuals, immersive shows, and concerts inside a massive dome-shaped arena.

The latest update also confirms exactly where Sphere Abu Dhabi will be built. The venue will be located between Yas Mall and SeaWorld Abu Dhabi. Construction is expected to wrap up by the end of 2029.

The original venue opened in Las Vegas in 2023 and instantly went viral for its glowing exterior, huge wraparound visuals, and immersive shows happening inside the dome. Sphere Abu Dhabi will bring the same kind of experience to the UAE.

Inside, it’s basically going to work like one huge entertainment playground where the stage and seating can change depending on the type of event. The planned capacity of Sphere Abu Dhabi is around 20,000 people.

Three categories of events are already confirmed:

  • “Sphere Experiences” with immersive productions with multi-sensory storytelling
  • Concert residencies when artists perform multiple shows over extended periods
  • Large-scale events like combat sports, conferences, product launches, and brand events

More Attractions on Yas Island
