If you’re looking for a car ride like never before, head to the Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve for a drive-through photo exhibition that’s sure to impress. From January 30 to February 8, this unique outdoor event lets you explore the desert from the comfort of your own car.
Al Marmoom: The Living Wild transforms the UAE’s largest unfenced nature reserve into an open-air gallery that celebrates the desert’s wildlife and natural beauty. It will guide you through a series of 24 photographs by His Excellency Ali Khalifa bin Thalith, capturing the reserve’s wild inhabitant.
The outdoor installations blend into the landscape, run on solar power, and you can scan QR codes at each stop to get stories and context about the species in the photos.
Whether you’re into photography, wildlife, or just want to experience the desert in a whole new way, Al Marmoom: The Living Wild is worth your attention. Plus, it’s completely free. Bring coffee, roll down the windows, and enjoy this desert adventure.
While we might think of the desert as just a safari destination, the recent initiatives prove otherwise. Check out another immersive art project planned for the Dubai desert – Clio House. Opening in March 2027, it’ll offer a peaceful and artistic getaway from the city’s noise.
