Two of Dubai’s busiest shopping destinations — Mall of the Emirates and City Centre Deira — have introduced a barrierless parking system this year, designed to streamline visitors’ experience. But if you don’t play by the new rules, you could end up with a AED 150 fine. Here’s a clear guide to how it works, how to pay, and how to avoid any unnecessary fees.
How the New Parking System Works
The new system uses Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) to track your vehicle’s entry and exit time. Cameras scan your plate as you drive in and out — no ticket or gate barrier needed.
- If you stay within the free time, you can drive out without any charges.
- Exceed the limit, and you’ll get a notification via SMS to the mobile number linked to your car.
You’ll then need to pay via the Parkin app or parkin.ae, using Apple Pay, credit/debit cards, or Parkin Wallet. Frequent shoppers can activate AutoPay through the app so charges are automatically deducted from your wallet. If you don’t have an account, there’s a PayLater option.

How to Get Free Parking at Dubai Malls in 2025
1. Spending-based validation
Spend AED 150 or more at either mall and get a full day of free parking. Show your receipt or ticket at:
- Customer Service Desk
- VOX Cinemas counter
- Parking Management Office
- Automatically validated if you used valet service
2. Activity-based benefits
When visiting VOX Cinemas or Ski Dubai at Mall of the Emirates, you get 2 extra free hours.
A Reminder how to Avoid Fines in Dubai Malls 2025
- You have 5 days to pay any outstanding fees
- After 2 days, you’ll get a reminder SMS
- After 3 days, expect a phone call
- After 5 days, a AED 150 fine is added
