World Islands are getting a major addition in late 2027 with the opening of InterContinental Dubai – The Heart of Europe. This new resort will offer an ideal getaway just a short boat ride from the city, combining luxury with a sense of escape.
The resort’s architecture is one-of-a-kind. Designed by HWKN Architecture, it will feature a mesh “curtain” facade made from Teflon-coated fibreglass that sways with the wind, creating an eye-catching effect. The interior design blends Mediterranean elegance with modern luxury, featuring stone columns and flowing fabrics.
Inside, there will be 466 rooms spread across three wings: Bellissima, Dolce Vita, and Felicita. Each room will have stunning views, whether it’s of the sparkling sea, the resort’s pools, or the pristine beach.

For food lovers, the resort will offer nine restaurants and bars. The resort will also feature a top-of-the-line gym, a Snow Room in the spa, and 700 meters of beach to soak up the sun.
Families with children will enjoy the Kingdom of Portofino, a kid’s club based on Montessori principles, while moms can unwind at La Donna, an exclusive ladies’ spa and lounge.
When it opens, InterContinental Dubai will become place to stay for those seeking a unique and luxurious island escape. But it’s not the only major development coming to The World Islands. Check out other incredible projects like Hygge, Sweden Beach Palace, and Hôtel Cannes.
