Football fans in India were hoping to see Lionel Messi and Argentina national team in action this November, with talks of a friendly match in Kerala creating huge buzz. For many, it felt like a dream chance to watch the world champions play live. However, that dream will have to wait.

On October 24, Argentine Football Association (AFA) officially confirmed that the team’s plans have changed and Messi and his teammates won’t be playing in India in 2025.

As it was announced, Lionel Scaloni’s squad will head to Spain for a training camp and play a single friendly match against Angola on Friday, November 14. You can see the original publication (in Spanish) below.

The AFA shared the update on its official social media channels, putting an end to the speculation surrounding Argentina’s much-awaited visit. While this news may disappoint thousands of fans, there’s still hope that the Albiceleste will play in India at some point in the future.

For now, supporters will have to wait a little longer to see Messi and his teammates take the field on Indian soil. Stay tuned for more updates and announcements!
