If you drive anywhere near Trade Centre Roundabout, you know how quickly a short trip can turn into a slow crawl. That’s why this latest road update will feel like a real relief for many commuters. A new bridge opened in Dubai, connecting Sheikh Zayed Road and Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street towards Al Karama and Deira.

Here are the key features of the new bridge:

  • Length: 1,000 m
  • Two lanes
  • Up to 3,000 vehicles/hour
  • Travel time reduced to only 1 minute

Instead of sitting in traffic for up to six minutes, drivers can now make the same stretch in about one minute.

This is the third bridge delivered under the Trade Centre Roundabout Development Project. In December, two other bridges under the same project opened to serve traffic coming from 2nd December Street towards Sheikh Rashid Road and Al Majlis Street.

Altogether, the plan includes five bridges with a combined length of 5,000 metres and the conversion of the current roundabout into a signalised intersection. Check the map below: the opened bridges are marked with green.

The upgraded junction serves key commercial and residential areas such as DWTC, DIFC, Zabeel, Al Satwa, Al Karama, Al Jafiliya, and Al Mankhool. More than half a million residents and visitors are expected to benefit. Once the full project is complete, delays at this area are projected to drop from around 12 minutes to just 90 seconds.
