Dubai’s vibrant entertainment scene is about to reach new heights with the unveiling of New Covent Garden, a premier performing arts venue at the heart of the Mall of the Emirates. Designed to bring world-class live shows to Dubai, this exciting cultural hub will house a 575-seat theater, ten dance and rehearsal studios, and an on-site restaurant.
Slated to open in early 2025, New Covent Garden will attract diverse performances, including West End musicals, Arabic drama, ballet, comedy, opera, family shows, and concerts. This ambitious project is spearheaded by industry icons Lisa Scott-Lee, of Steps fame, and creative director Johnny Shentall-Lee, promising top-notch entertainment and training facilities. Together, they aim to create a space that unites international stars and emerging local talent, cultivating a vibrant community for Dubai’s arts lovers.
New Covent Garden will also welcome a Dubai outpost of London’s renowned Pineapple Dance Studios, offering classes for all ages and skill levels in dance and performance. Scott-Lee, who founded the Dubai Performing Arts Academy, shared her vision for the venue as a true “creative hub” that will support artists across dance, music, theater, and visual arts, bringing her long-time dream to life in Dubai.
Adding to the excitement, Live Nation Middle East has partnered for the venue’s inaugural performance, setting the stage for a calendar of can’t-miss events. With New Covent Garden, Dubai’s Mall of the Emirates will become a destination not just for shopping but for an immersive artistic experience that invites the community to embrace the performing arts.
