If you’ve been meaning to get back on your bike, this is a good reason to start. Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has added 13 new cycling tracks in the city, all fully finished and ready to use.

Here are some of the completed tracks you can already try for your rides:

  • 11 km in Al Warqa’a
  • 10.5 km in Al Barsha 2
  • around 10 km along Al Shindagha Corridor
  • 8 km in Al Khawaneej 2
  • 7 km from Al Quoz to Onpassive Metro Station
  • 700 m in Tolerance District

Earlier this year, as part of the same project, a new pedestrian and cycling bridge over Al Manara Street opened. It has an artistic touch, with mural panels that reflect the energy of Al Quoz Creative Zone.

The rest of the project is still in progress, with more connections and bridges planned. Once completed, these cycling routes will link Al Khawaneej to Al Mamzar Beach, Al Warqa’a to Saih Al Salam, and DIFC to Jumeirah.

And if you like the idea of a more connected city, there’s another project worth your attention. Dubai Walk has officially entered Phrase 1. Once completed, it’ll improve connectivity across the emirate with 6,000 km of walkways and support a more active lifestyle.
