Good news for Dubai drivers who regularly struggle through the Al Wasl – Umm Al Sheif intersection! The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is adding a second eastbound lane to the busy junction, aiming to improve traffic flow in this fast-growing area.
This new lane will be part of the RTA’s ongoing efforts to make traffic more efficient in Dubai’s expanding neighborhoods. The hope is that by increasing the capacity of this intersection, waiting times will be reduced, and the overall traffic flow will improve.

If you’ve been stuck in traffic at this spot, the addition of the new lane will hopefully mean less time waiting and more time getting to your destination. As the city continues to grow, the RTA is focused on making sure roads can handle the increased traffic without creating major delays.
Drivers in Dubai would also be pleased to know that Emirates Road will be reopening on August 25. This is another big step in improving the flow of traffic in the city, so stay tuned for more updates!
