Riyadh’s Al Olaya district has welcomed a new café that’s giving waffles a design-forward spotlight. Novu Waffle, the latest evolution of a once-small takeaway concept, has opened its doors with a full café experience — and a bold visual identity to match.
The 100-square-metre venue stands out not just for its food, but for its interior, designed by Spanish design studio Masquespacio. The space is minimalist and monochrome, with clean white walls, floors, and furnishings subtly interrupted by a warm yellow glow.

The grid pattern of a waffle appears throughout the design, embossed into seating, windows, and other surfaces, creating a cohesive aesthetic that mirrors the menu’s core theme.
The café offers both indoor and outdoor seating. Indoors, the space feels otherworldly — futuristic and tightly curated — while the outdoor terrace features pink seating and communal-style tables suited to groups. A delivery and pick-up point, painted in bright yellow, supports the café’s grab-and-go model.

As for the waffles themselves, the variety is broad. Options include Classic, Belgian Chocolate, Choco Cinnamon, Chocolate Cookie, Chocolate Stuffed, Custard, Honey Cream Cheese, and Maple and Pecan. Each item is crafted to order and presented with a contemporary flair that matches the setting.
Novu Waffle is open from 9 AM to 11 PM, Saturday through Thursday, and until midnight on Fridays. Whether you’re looking to dine in, pick up, or explore a café where design and dessert go hand in hand, this new addition to Riyadh’s food scene offers something distinctive.
