Ramadan is a time for reflection, fasting, and bringing communities together. It’s also a time for special gatherings, festive markets, and delicious food. This year, the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority is bringing back the much-loved Ramadan Nights Festival, and visitors can expect cultural events, workshops, and traditional activities across the city.

At Al Shindagha Museum, the celebrations run from March 14-23. Highlights include hands-on workshops like ‘Design Your Own Mukhawara’ (traditional Emirati dress) and ‘Traditional Perfumery’. The museum’s Visitor Centre will turn into a vibrant food hall, offering Suhoor meals from local vendors such as Chef Maitha, Dubai Food Babes, and Sultan Eats.

Poetry, Music & Cultural Performances

For those who love poetry and music, Al Safa Art & Design Library will host inspiring performances. On March 14, well-known poets like Ahmed Al Asem, Amal Al Sahlawi, and Najat Al Dhaheri will share their latest works.

The following day, March 15, the venue will feature oud music, puppet theatre, shadow play, and workshops, including palm frond weaving and perfumery.

There will also be a prayer-making workshop for children. Visitors can browse Emirati fashion boutiques and enjoy food and drinks from local vendors.

Ramadan Market & Suhoor Pop-Up

Between March 22-31, a daily Ramadan market will take place at Al Shindagha Museum in partnership with EmpowerHer, supporting women-led businesses. The market will offer great food, shopping, and Ramadan essentials.

A special Suhoor pop-up, inspired by ‘Steps of Suhoor’, will be open from 9 PM to midnight, providing a cozy space to enjoy tasty food and soak in the festive atmosphere.
