The historic Red Palace in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is getting a new lease on life. Built in 1943 by King Abdulaziz, the founding father of Saudi Arabia, this iconic palace is being transformed into a luxurious boutique hotel by the Boutique Group, a subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF).
This transformation will preserve the palace’s rich history while giving it a modern twist. Originally a gift to King Saud bin Abdulaziz, the Red Palace has seen decades of historic events. It was the first building in Saudi Arabia made with reinforced concrete and served as the headquarters for the Council of Ministers for more than 30 years.
The palace hosted royal receptions, international leaders, and high-profile events, leaving an indelible mark on Saudi Arabia’s history.
When it opens in April 2026, the revamped Red Palace will combine its original charm with contemporary luxury. Located in the heart of Riyadh, the hotel will feature over 70 rooms, including deluxe rooms, luxury suites, a royal suite, and spa suites. Guests can expect private butler services, seven public event spaces, and five high-end restaurants.
The Red Palace is part of a larger project by the Boutique Group to transform historical sites across Saudi Arabia into luxurious destinations.
Along with the Red Palace, Riyadh’s Tuwaiq Palace and Jeddah’s Al Hamra Palace will also be turned into boutique hotels. This effort reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to preserving its cultural heritage while offering world-class hospitality.
Whether you’re a history enthusiast, a culture lover, or simply seeking a royal-level experience, the Red Palace promises to be an unforgettable destination.
