Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has unveiled the first phase of its enhanced marine transport stations in Dubai Marina, offering a more comfortable and connected experience for commuters. The upgrade introduces air-conditioned waiting areas, smarter service features, and improved accessibility, all while preserving the city’s maritime character.
Five marine stations now feature modern facilities designed to make commuting by water more seamless and enjoyable:
- Marina Promenade
- Marina Terrace
- Marina Walk
- Marina Mall
- Marina Mall 1

The new waiting areas come equipped with free Wi-Fi, real-time schedule display screens, and audio announcement systems, ensuring passengers stay informed while staying cool.
Architectural updates draw inspiration from traditional wooden abras, blending Dubai’s heritage with the practical needs of a fast-growing city. These revamped stations are strategically located near popular destinations such as Marina Mall, surrounding residential zones, and Dubai Metro and Tram stations, making it easier for residents and tourists to move around using multiple modes of transport.
Safety hasn’t been overlooked either — enhanced security systems, CCTV surveillance, and fire alarms have been added to ensure a safe experience for all passengers.

Accessibility has been a key focus, with all upgraded stations designed to meet the Dubai Universal Design Code. Each one features ramps, smooth walkways, and height-adjusted amenities, making them fully accessible to people of determination.
According to RTA, the upgrades were based on user feedback and are part of a broader strategy to improve marine transport across the city. Phase Two of the project will see the transformation of five more stations, selected for their high demand and strategic location.
