It’s a new season in Dubai, and as residents are coming back to the city, more fresh and delicious openings are waiting for them. SANA, a new Uzbek restaurant, will open its doors at Jumeirah Mina Al Salam this September. It promises to take guests on a flavorful journey along the Silk Road, combining bold dishes, rich traditions, and a touch of modern hospitality.
SANA takes inspiration from the renowned Restaurant Uzbekistan in Moscow and is led by Chef Glen Ballis, whose international career has spanned Melbourne, Moscow, London, and Asia. The menu blends authentic Uzbek specialties with contemporary Asian creations, turning time-honored recipes into a modern dining experience that connects East and West.

The interiors reflect the concept as well, with earthy colors, artisanal finishes, and refined Uzbek details. Guests can also enjoy Moon, a hidden bar and event space that sets the mood for the evening, or relax on the floating terrace, especially when the cooler weather arrives in Dubai.
The menu highlights include Plov, slow-cooked to perfection, traditional Shashlik skewers, wood-fired meats, and delicate pastries such as Olat Somsa and Chebureki. A selection of soups, salads, and flatbreads is designed for sharing, making the experience feel warm and communal.

SANA is one of several exciting new openings this season. Around the same time, Ostura will open in Emirates Financial Towers, inspired by the tales of 1001 Arabian Nights, offering a theatrical dining experience with live entertainment in a contemporary setting.
Dubai’s food scene just keeps getting richer, more diverse, and full of surprises. With new restaurants popping up left and right, there’s always something unique to try. So whether you’re after Uzbek comfort food, Japanese elegance, or Arabian storytelling on a plate, now is the perfect time to explore the city’s most unique restaurants and memorable dining destinations.
