If you’re an art lover in Dubai, you’re in for a treat. Christie’s is hosting a live auction titled ‘SILSILA,’ which will showcase selected works from Dalloul Collection, focusing on Arab art and celebrating the rich cultural diversity of the region. The collection will be on display at Christie’s Dubai until October 10, giving visitors a chance to view these magnificent pieces before they go on sale in Dubai, London, and Paris.
Among the standouts is Paul Guiragossian’s Automne (Autumn) from 1989. This masterpiece combines modernism with figurative abstraction, influenced by the artist’s experience of exile.
Another major highlight is Aref El Rayess’s Soukhour Meyrouba (The Rocks of Meyrouba), a serene depiction of a Lebanese landscape from 1977.
If you’re a fan of mesmerizing landscapes, Mahmoud Said’s La colline de Mekarzel (Mekarzel Hill), painted in 1955, will draw you in.
Also worth checking out is Samia Halaby’s Gardenia, created in 1978. This piece, part of Halaby’s renowned Diagonal Flight series, combines geometric abstraction and natural symmetry, creating a dynamic visual experience. Halaby’s influence in both traditional and digital art makes her works highly sought after.
These pieces are part of a curated selection that also includes works by Mohamed Melehi, Dia Al-Azzawi, and Marwan, among others. What’s even more exciting is that some of these works have deep ties to Lebanon and Palestine, the ancestral homelands of the Dalloul family.
The Dalloul Collection offers both museum-quality masterpieces and more accessible pieces like photography, sculptures, and works on paper. This is an unmissable opportunity to explore a rich collection of Arab art before it goes under the hammer.
