Dubai’s vibrant arts scene is about to come alive once again as the Sikka Art & Design Festival returns to Al Shindagha from 31 January to 9 February 2025. Celebrating 13 years of creativity, this annual event transforms the historic district into a buzzing hub of artistic expression. The entry to Sikka 2025 is free but a registration is required.

Wander through the charming alleyways and heritage houses to discover over 40 captivating public art pieces and installations. Sculptures, murals, and interactive displays will be scattered across 19 locations, inviting visitors to engage with art in a unique way. Some spaces will be dedicated to nurturing emerging talent, while others will highlight the creativity of people of determination, ensuring that diverse voices are celebrated.

Adding to the visual feast, 13 large-scale murals by internationally renowned artists will turn the walls into a dynamic canvas, reinforcing Dubai’s vision of becoming an open-air art gallery.

Beyond the visual arts, the festival’s lineup is packed with energy. More than 450 workshops and discussions will spark inspiration, while over 100 live performances, 13 theatrical productions, and six grand orchestral concerts will fill the air with music and storytelling. One of the festival’s biggest highlights is the Firdaus Orchestra performing alongside the Emirates Youth Symphony Orchestra and Dubai City Sound ensemble.

For those who love creativity with a twist, innovation takes center stage at Sikka 2025. Theatre lovers can explore the ‘World Stage Design House,’ where daily workshops and performances bring stories to life.

The striking ‘Merin’ pavilion will showcase the beauty of architectural design, while ‘Creatives on Wheels’ will deliver a unique mix of shadow play and live music in a mobile theatre setting.

Food enthusiasts are in for a treat, with over 50 homegrown food and beverage concepts adding flavor to the festival. A standout experience of Sikka 2025 will be the ‘House of Saffron,’ where nine top chefs will host exclusive supper clubs, offering a fusion of tastes and artistry in an unforgettable dining experience.

Sikka, meaning “alleyway,” perfectly captures the spirit of the festival. Over the years, it has provided a platform for Emirati and UAE-based artists to showcase their work and grow in the industry.

While it began with a focus on visual arts and design, it has now expanded into a multidisciplinary celebration, blending film, music, theater, and discussions with traditional exhibitions.

Whether you’re an art lover, a music enthusiast, or simply looking for something new to experience, Sikka Art & Design Festival promises to be a blast! Mark your calendar and step into a world of creativity from January 31 to February 9, 2025.
