Get ready, Dubai food lovers, because a fresh new dining spot is heading to the city. Sobremesa, a Mexican-Spanish fusion restaurant, is set to open next month in Souk Al Bahar, bringing modern gourmet plates, lively cocktails, and a relaxed post-meal vibe.
Sobremesa takes its name from a beloved Latin tradition – the time spent chatting and laughing once the plates are cleared. Think of it as a Spanish-style ritual where meals don’t end when the food is gone, but when the conversation (and tequila or mezcal) winds down. So, don’t rush off after your main course – stick around and enjoy the agave-driven energy of the place.
Leading the kitchen is Mexican chef Marco Ferreirа, a Le Cordon Bleu alum with experience in Hollywood and Moscow’s trendiest eateries. The menu will feature fresh, house-made tortillas, smoky charcoal-grilled dishes, and plates packed with flavor.
Signature bites are expected to include a Truffled Quesadilla with Oaxaca cheese, mushrooms and avocado salsa, and a Duck Carnitas Taco with BBQ sauce, jalapeño aioli, and pickled onion.
The décor blends European flair with charred wood sculptures evoking fireside gatherings and a digital sun glowing overhead. A terrace overlooking Souk Al Bahar’s water features completes the picture-perfect setting.
Sobremesa opens next month and will welcome diners daily from 6 PM until late. With this new arrival, Dubai’s dining scene keeps getting richer and more diverse, offering something for every taste. Make sure to explore all the best restaurants in Dubai in 2025 – there’s plenty of flavour to go around.
