Lebanon could soon have a second airport for passenger flights. Authorities have announced the start of rehabilitation works at Rene Mouawad Airport (KYE) in Qlayaat, Akkar. Located near the Syrian border, Rene Mouawad Airport has been used by the Lebanese Army for decades. The work is expected to take at least three months and will be followed by a pilot phase.
