Family life is often made up of everyday moments: time together, shared routines, small traditions. A new nationwide photo competition in the UAE, called “Family in Frame Award,” invites residents to share photographs that reflect those experiences and the ties that bring families together.
The competition is being held as part of Year of Family, a national initiative that highlights the role of family ties, shared values, and community support across the country.
Participants are asked to submit a photo that tells a visual story about family life. The image can show simple, real moments that reflect belonging, support between generations, or the everyday ways families care for one another. Faces in the photo do not have to be clearly visible.
Family in Frame: Rules and Prizes
Submissions are open until May 29, 2026, and the winning photographs will be announced on June 15.
- Each participant may submit one photograph
- Images must be in JPEG or JPG format
- Minimum file size: 5MB
- Resolution: 300 DPI
- Photos should not include logos, signatures, or timestamps
- Only light editing is allowed (AI-generated or heavily manipulated images are not accepted)
Entries will be reviewed by a panel of media and creative industry experts, who will evaluate submissions based on creativity, how well they reflect the theme of family, and overall image quality.
Three winning entries will receive the following prizes:
- First place: AED 25,000
- Second place: AED 15,000
- Third place: AED 10,000
Selected images will later be displayed during Eid Al Etihad celebrations as part of an exhibition celebrating creativity and community participation.
Family in Frame Award is one of several family-focused initiatives introduced in the UAE this year. Recently, Fazaa has introduced free discount memberships for UAE families until the end of 2026.
