The 17th edition of the Asia Cup will take place from September 9 to 28, 2025, across venues in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Played in the T20 format, this year’s tournament brings together eight national teams and a full schedule of high-stakes cricket, including the highly anticipated clash between India and Pakistan.
As defending champions, India are expected to face intense competition. The format divides the eight teams into two groups, with each side playing three matches in the group stage. The top two from each group will proceed to the Super Four, followed by the final on September 28.

Group A: India, Pakistan, UAE, Oman
Group A is already drawing the most attention, featuring India and Pakistan in the same group alongside hosts UAE and Oman. This sets up a critical early-stage showdown between the two South Asian powerhouses on Sunday, September 14.

Group B: Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Hong Kong
Group B promises some tightly contested fixtures as well. Each team plays three matches, with the top two advancing to the next round.

India vs Pakistan in Asia Cup 2025
After the group stage, the top two teams from each group will progress to the Super Four, where they face each other once. The best two performers from this round will meet in the Asia Cup final on September 28.
If both India and Pakistan qualify, they could meet up to three times, in the group stage, Super Four, and potentially the final.
While attention is on the UAE, Oman is also on the regional cricket map. ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifier for Asia is scheduled to be held there this October, adding another key tournament to the Gulf’s growing cricket calendar.
