Big changes are hitting Dubai’s shores! The beloved Umm Suqeim Beach, famous for its stunning views, family-friendly vibe, and the annual Flag Garden, is about to undergo a huge transformation. And if you love this spot now, it’s about to get even better with more space, upgraded features, and new additions.

Here’s the transformation of Umm Suqeim Beach in numbers:

  • AED 500 million: budget allocated for the upgrade
  • 445,000 sqm: total area, which comes with 30% more beach space
  • 10 new mobility hubs and 11 taxi pick-up points to improve transport options
  • 200% increase in parking spaces

The beach area will be revamped to include new recreational spaces such as cycling and running tracks, paddle courts, dining spots, and cafés.

One of the brand-new developments at Umm Suqeim Beach will include a floating platform with a pool, lounge areas, and shaded spots. This area will give visitors incredible views of the Dubai skyline, including the iconic Burj Al Arab.

And here are some other additions that will make a big impact:

  • A new smart lighting system for night swims and a 1km night swim beach
  • A whale sculpture and other art installations
  • More playgrounds and family-friendly areas
  • A 38m observation tower

According to first estimations, the number of visitors coming to Umm Suqeim Beach is expected to increase by 70%. While there’s no exact date for when the transformation will be finished, there’s a lot to look forward to!
