One of the most famous names on the Russian comedy scene is Azamat Musagaliev. He has established himself as one of the most successful competitors on the KVN game show and has gone on to bring laughter to audiences around the Russian speaking world.
Despite being urged down an alternative career path, Musagaliev pursued music in his studies and he became an accomplished singer and guitarist. It wasn’t until he was invited to join up with the Astrakhan KVN team that his comedy career began to take shape.
Musagaliev joined the team as a musical element, writing songs and sketches for the team to perform. He left his first team to join the Kamyzyaksky team and was elected to be their captain. Musagaliev was a key person, writing numerous sketches and jokes, ultimately bringing the team to the finals in 2011, 12 and 13, coming second twice in the three years.
As one of the top KVN players, Musagaliev left his role to pursue new opportunities, making TV appearances and cameos in comedy series before finally joining up with the Only in Russia’’ troupe in 2014.
In the troupe Musagaliev has written several songs that have been hits across the Russian speaking world and he has firmly placed himself as one of the most important members of the cast.
