Boogie Box kicks off its Summer Series at The Hangar with an all Techno lineup featuring Matrixxman, Adam Rahman, and Pooja B on Saturday, July 6. The Lineup: Berlin-based, American native Matrixxman headlines Boogie Box on July 6 for his Dubai debut. The Techno DJ and Producer's stripped-down and driving Techno DJ sets have made him a regular feature on lineups across the world which include appearances at Berghain, Dekmantel, DGTL, Fabric, Fold, Fuse, Tresor. His production has seen his music released on a plethora of notable record labels including Dekmantel, KSR, Planet Rhythm, and Planet X. His most recent album demonstrated his versatility in the studio, which he's described as "An album with 19 tracks of dubstep, UKG, and some other shit thrown in there for good measure." Adam Rahman, a regular guest at Boogie Box going back to 2011, makes a return to our party. A DJ, promoter, label co-owner, and festival coordinator, Adam Rahman has been a driving force for dance music in the Middle East, India, and increasingly the rest of the world, for decades. A trailblazing DJ and promoter, Adam brought cutting-edge techno and electronic music to the Middle East just before the millennium, establishing an ultra-credible dance music scene via his WARPED nights, a true underground night that brought forward-thinking techno to a land still dominated by sandcastles, skyscrapers, and beach houses. His production has seen his music released on labels in the UK, Holland, and on his beloved KitchenSync Records which he runs alongside two other friends in Dubai. His sets have been picked up by outlets across the world, with his Wild City mix for Resident Advisor the first to be featured from India. Now represented by Bleep in India and DCS4 for his European DJ bookings, and with a new A \ S \ O \ M alias and album released covering downtempo, leftfield, and alternative electronica, Adam continues to grow and evolve and thrive just like his first love, techno. After juggling a flight attendant career and DJing for over a decade, Pooja B followed her dream & moved to Berlin in 2021 just as clubs were re-opening. She uses her understanding of dancefloor psychology to curate sets that resonate with her own love for dancing. She feels most grounded in fundamental techno she heard in Berlin’s clubs on her first trip to the city in 2016. Like the polarity of her femme & masculine energy, she embraces the neurodiverse spectrum of her musicality. Reflecting the place & time, you could hear her play energetic grooves, brain-massaging frequencies, or dark industrial textures. With a growing presence, Pooja B plays for many clubs & queer collectives in Berlin & beyond. She has played at Tresor, closing the main room at her debut there. She also played Boiler Room alongside Amotik & Rikhter, playing the closing in Goa & the slot between the gents in Pune. Other profile gigs she has played are Gegen (Berlin), RSO (Berlin), Watergate (Berlin), Hör radio, Magnetic Fields Festival (India), Pawnshop (Taipei), Analog Room (Dubai), Mina Suspension (Lisbon), Balance Festival (Leipzig), & Womb (Tokyo), among others. Her music productions often have socio-political references, & she aspires to play more music by FLINTA & BIPOC artists. Pooja is involved in diverse communities, working on transcultural inclusion, equity, & mental health. She hosts a radio show on mental health in music spaces on Refuge Worldwide. This has fostered a loyal and supportive fan base that rallies behind her every project. The Venue: The Hangar is located at JA The Resort, by Soul Beach. It is an industrial warehouse space used as a workshop for maintaining and servicing boats, The Hangar’s industrial finishing, high ceilings, and raw features are reminiscent of old warehouse rave parties. Tickets: Presale general admission, backstage, and tables are on sale now.
