Indian musical duo Vishal-Shekhar are recognised talents in Bollywood and have created the soundtracks to many Indian movies since their formation in 1999. Comprised of Vishal Dadlani, a Mumbai-born singer and vocalist of the electronic band Pentagram; and classically trained singer Shekhar Ravjiani, the duo formed in 1999 to further progress their careers as composers.
Their collaborations first taste of fame came with their song Ta Aashiqui Hai which featured on the 2003 Hindi film Jhankaar Beats. The duo were awarded the Filmfare RD Burman Award for New Music Talent for their work on the movie.
The artists then went on to compose songs for Salaam Namaste, Dus and Bluffmaster, all released in 2005, also producing music for numerous Bollywood films, including blockbusters such as Ra-One, Golmaal Returns, The Dirty Picture and Chennai Express.
The duo were also judges on the talent shows Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge, Jo Jeeta Wohi Super Star and Amul Star Voice of India Mummy Ki Superstars. They also composed the theme song for the Indian Premier League team the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Their success has seen the duo perform across India and the world at numerous events and festivals, including at the 2012 Spring Fest and Festember in 2014.read more
