British rock band Toploader made worldwide headlines in 2000 when their song Dancing in the Moonlight became an instant hit and cemented their place on the UK alternative music scene. Formed in 1997, the band has toured the world and worked with many of the industry’s top names.
Toploader’s career began alongside Coldplay and Muse, touring the UK and playing at small venues. The band has since gone on to support the likes of Robbie Williams and Bon Jovi and their career has seen them perform at the original Wembley Stadium, at the Lakefest Festival and the AmpRocks Festival amongst many other notable performances.
Their debut album, Onka’s Big Moka, was released at the turn of the millennium and peaked at 4th place in the UK Album Chart, going 3 times Platinum in the process. Whilst the leading track Dancing in the Moonlight only went to 19 in the chart, it became a worldwide hit and sold over 600,000 units.
Since then Toploader released two further albums, Magic Hotel in 2002 which included the singles Time of My Life and Sime Kind of Wonderful, the former the reaching 18th spot and Only Human in 2011.
