Octave One are veterans of the techno and house music scene having been a presence since the late 80s. The American group, comprised of core members Lenny and Lawrence Burden, also features work from Lynell, Lorne and Lance Burden, making this Detroit outfit a truly family affair.
Over their exciting and progressive career, Octave One has released seven albums and numerous other singles and EPs, earning them widespread praise and seeing them invited to perform all over the world.
Octave One’s 2000 single, Blackwater, sold over a million records worldwide and is a stable track for the likes of superstar DJs Louie Vega, Richie Hawtin and Danny Teneglia. The track was also re-released in 2002 and made its debut in the UK Singles Chart, peaking at Number 69.
The group has also performed at sell-out shows in the UK, Europe, Japan and Australia, as well as performances alongside Disclosure and for the hugely popular Boiler Room channel. Octave One’s label, 430 West/Direct Beat Records, which was founded in 1990, has also shaped much of the groups sound and been a platform for numerous producers to release their music.
