Having worked with a who’s who of pop music, Guy Pratt is one of the most experienced musicians in the world. A session bassist for hire, he’s worked alongside Pink Floyd, Michael Jackson, The Smiths, A. R. Rahman, Madonna and dozens more, supplying precise bass riffs that have been heard by millions across the world.
Guy Pratt won a Grammy Award in 1995 for his work on ‘Marooned,’ an instrumental track on Pink Floyd’s The Division Bell album from the year before. Alongside that, he’s a big part of the TV and film soundtrack scene, having worked as an actor and sound composer on Last Action Hero, cult film Hackers and Johnny English Reborn in 2011.
A multi-talented man, Guy Pratt started his one many music and comedy show in 2005, which has seen him sell tickets across the world, and in 2007 released his book My Bass and Other Animals. Pink Floyd remain a big part of his life, and he’s frequently seen on stage at gigs across the world with Pink Floyd tribute acts, and to date has performed in Argentina, Australia, Dubai and in London, while in 1995 he actually married into the band as he wed Gala Wright, the daughter of Pink Floyd’s keyboardist Richard Wright.
