Swedish DJ and producer Mikael Weermets is quickly establishing himself as one of the great Swedish DJs, alongside the likes of Avicii, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso, through his energetic live performances and crisp progressive and electro house productions.
The DJ, who has been performing since age 19, has become one of the most in-demand producers of his generation and has performed at numerous festivals and clubs around the world. Combining deep house, experimental styles and progressive Detroit sounds, Weermets has found himself at the top of his career.
2007 saw Weermets in the finals of the Swedish Music Convention alongside Eric Prydz and Axwell, before he went on to be named Megamine.ae Best Swedish DJ. He also joined The Voice radio network in the same year, before working as a resident for NRJ club a year later, which saw him perform alongside David Guetta, Roger Sanchez, Laidback Luke and many more.
The shows kept coming for the young artist, including a world tour with dance music powerhouse Ministry of Sound. He began releasing music in 2009, having singles and remixes released on Spinnin’ and Vicious Grooves amongst others. Weermets also received significant praise from superstar DJ Tiësto, releasing music on his Musical Freedom label and joining him on tour several times.
