Biography & Career:
Faisal Kapadia is a Pakistani singer, musician, composer, and director, best known as the lead vocalist and primary lyricist of the iconic pop-rock band Strings. Born in Karachi into a family of Gujarati descent — with roots tracing back to Rajkot, India — the passion for music came early, with classical training in vocals and guitar shaping a distinctive artistic voice. His nationality is Pakistani and religion is Ismaili Nizari Islam. Details about father and siblings remain largely private, though the strong family values and cultural heritage have always been at the core of the artistic identity.

In 1988, during college at the Government College of Commerce & Economics in Karachi, Faisal Kapadia co-founded Strings alongside Bilal Maqsood, Rafiq Wazir Ali, and Kareem Bashir Bhoy. The band signed with EMI Records and quickly gained recognition. Their second album featuring the hit "Sar Kiye Yeh Pahar" brought widespread acclaim. After a hiatus, the duo of Faisal and Bilal returned in 2000 with the landmark song "Duur" — widely regarded among the best songs in Pakistani pop history — launching a celebrated second chapter that included multiple Coke Studio seasons, Bollywood collaborations, and international tours.

Wife Seema Kapadia has been by his side since their marriage in 2000, with the couple raising two sons, Armaan and Jibran. As a Faisal Kapadia singer and solo artist, the transition after Strings' official dissolution in March 2021 brought a bold new chapter. The debut solo appearance on Coke Studio 14 (2022) — including a powerful collaboration with Young Stunners — added fresh famous songs to an already legendary catalog. Along with Bilal Maqsood, he has served as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for Pakistan since 2005. Faisal Kapadia concerts and tickets to upcoming shows continue to attract devoted audiences across Pakistan, India, and the diaspora worldwide.
