China Crisis

China Crisis

China Crisis is a pop rock band that was formed in 1979 in Kirkby, near Liverpool. A mutual love for musical legends such as Stevie Wonder, Steely Dan and David Bowie brought together vocalist/keyboardist Gary Daly and guitarist Eddie Lundon who make up the core of the band.

The band recorded their debut album Difficult Shapes & Passive Rhythms, Some People Think It's Fun to Entertain in 1982 after being signed to Virgin records

China Crisis achieved notable success in the early 1980s, particularly in the UK, with five Top 40 singles and three Top 40 albums. It was their album “Flaunt the Imperfection” which was released in 1985 that propelled the band to new heights of success, making it to number 9 in the UK Albums charts. The album featured hit singles including “Black Man Ray” and “King in a Catholic Style”

China Crisis is back in the Philippines in 2017, after six years, as part of the '80's Invasion Tour'. The much-anticipated gig will feature – in addition to Daly and Lundon – English singer and actress Toyah Willcox and singer songwriter Paul Young
