Perhaps best known for bringing mashup culture into the mainstream thanks to their infectious, party-starting DJ sets and mixtapes, there’s a lot more to 2ManyDJs than just being dancefloor destroying DJs.
Comprised of Belgium brothers David and Stephen Dewaele, their 2002 album As Heard on Radio Soulwax PT2 spliced together over 150 tracks into a very memorable collage, as artists as diverse as Dolly Parton, Basement Jaxx and 10CC sat side by side and were cunningly mixed into one another thanks to the brother’s vivid imagination. The album went viral, and defined the mashup scene, pushing the duo into the mainstream.
2ManyDJs are also highly rated music producers and remixers, having turned tracks from Tiga, Justice, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie and The Gossip into huge club smashes. Under their Soulwax guise, 2ManyDJs toured the world with their live band, selling thousands of tickets at gigs across the world, including several stand out shows in Dubai. More recently, they’ve toned down their mashups and concentrated on playing a blistering mix of house, electro and techno in their sets, but always with a killer curveball up their sleeves, making them one of the most fun and innovative duos in dance music at the moment.
Hugely talented DJs and with a back catalogue of dancefloor friendly ammunition, 2ManyDJs continue to set the benchmark for party-starting DJs the world over.
