Biography & Career:
Michael Gray is a British DJ, producer and remixer who has spent more than three decades shaping the sound of UK house and disco. Raised in Croydon, south London, the future musician grew up surrounded by records: four older sisters with wide-ranging taste, a father who played keyboard and ran under-16 disco dances, and a sister's boyfriend who brought his DJ gear round at Christmas. By 1989 the teenager was working at a club in Croydon, where a chance meeting with Jon Pearn led to the production duo Full Intention.

The duo broke through in 1994 with a remix of a Duke single that shot into the UK Top 20, and the pair went on to remix Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez, Sugababes and George Michael, picking up a Grammy nomination along the way. Work also appeared under the alias Mike Gray and the single-letter name M. In 2004 the solo project arrived and immediately went global, reaching number 7 on the UK Singles Chart, the Billboard Hot Dance Airplay top ten in the States, and more than 20,000 radio plays. Three studio albums followed across the next two decades, and after relaunching the solo name in 2018 to chase an older love of disco, the producer was voted number one artist on Traxsource in both 2020 and 2024.

Behind the decks, the artist has played across England, Spain, Poland, Germany, Croatia, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Brazil and beyond, with Ibiza residencies, Glitterbox dates, Defected festival slots and an arena show alongside David Guetta among the highlights. Michael Gray events keep coming: a seven-date Australia and New Zealand tour ran in 2026, alongside a monthly radio show, regular vinyl live streams and a production course teaching how a modern disco record is built. The songs still lean on the same formula that worked in 2004: warm analogue synths, a disco sample and a chorus that a whole room can shout back.

Away from the studio, life is quiet. Surrey has been home for years, and there is no wife on record, though the producer got engaged to long-term partner Melanie Lee at the start of 2026. As for children, one son is publicly known, and the family stays largely out of the spotlight — no name or personal details have been shared, and the occasional social media post is as close as fans get.
