Zamzam Al Hammadi is a rising Emirati mixed martial artist who has already made history as the first female fighter from the UAE to sign a professional MMA contract, joining the roster of PFL MENA in April 2025. A two-time IMMAF Youth World Champion and decorated Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitor, she has become a defining figure in the regional combat sports scene.
Born and raised in the United Arab Emirates, Zamzam Al Hammadi comes from a family deeply rooted in martial arts. The mother, Nada Al Nuaymi, is a judo and jiu-jitsu practitioner who also serves as the family coach, while younger sister Ghala and brother Zayed are themselves accomplished competitors. Training began at just two and a half years old in jiu-jitsu, with a current routine of four daily sessions covering jiu-jitsu, MMA, kickboxing, Muay Thai, boxing, and cardio.
In Zamzam Al Hammadi MMA career, the breakthrough came in 2023, when she became the first Emirati woman to win an IMMAF Youth World Championship in the 52 kg division at Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi. That same year she also took gold at the JJIF World Youth Championship in Astana. A second IMMAF Youth World Championship followed in 2024, alongside Asian gold and a string of jiu-jitsu honors at the Abu Dhabi World Pro Championship and Abu Dhabi Grand Slam. The current amateur MMA record stands at 2-0, with over 500 medals collected across international, regional, and local competitions.
Beyond the cage, Zamzam Al Hammadi recently appeared at the Fortune Most Powerful Women International Summit in Riyadh, speaking on the "Playing to Win: Women, Sports, and Breaking Barriers" panel about the evolving role of women in athletics.
